Modern Floor Lamps
A modern floor lamp not only illuminates your space, but adds warmth, depth, and visual interest to a room. With a variety of options to choose from, including those that are adjustable, dimmable, and come in a number of sizes, you’ll find the perfect standing lamp for your living room, dining room, or wherever you need it.
Lighting in a home is all too often overlooked. A small detail—an afterthought. People forget the degree to which lighting can influence a space. Lighting options in your home can serve many functions: to shed light, to add atmosphere to a room, or to be a cornerstone design element. Choose from modern floor lamps, minimalist table lamps, mid century pendant lamps, or unique wall lamps to add form and function to your space.
Placed behind a sofa or armchair, a modern floor lamp can transition a living room from a place to sit into a corner to curl up in. A desk lamp that’s made for concentration keeps your mind uncluttered. Over a dining room table, a single large pendant light makes a statement. Modern kitchen pendant lights can also work alone over a dinette set or in twos and threes across counters and islands. A bedside table lamp or wall lamp can turn any bedroom into a cozy place of calm. Choose your lighting option and then shine bright.
The right lighting can have transformative powers: it can make your space look bigger, more expansive. Or, it could make a space feel intimate and subtle and warm—perfect for a cozy night spent indoors with a favorite someone.
But ambiance can impact more than just mood: it can hide imperfections, drawing the eye to other focal points, or highlight important features to emphasize their beauty.
Or perhaps, your motivations are rooted more in utility and you’re hoping to find adequate task lighting, bright and illuminating to keep you focused, clear and alert. Pair an LED floor lamp beside your trusted desk space to complete the vignette.
Have a favorite spot to curl up with a good book? Don’t forget to purchase a reading lamp to keep you from your straining eyes—you could be inflicting permanent damage by reading without adequate lighting in place.
A floor lamp is also a convenient way to layer dimension into your space: an opportunity to provide a pop of color and visual interest in the form of bright and buoyant hues or intriguing textures and finishes. All our fixtures are built to last, with unique materials and elements working in unison to produce superior lighting ideal for the modern home. Browse beautiful fixtures featuring varied finishes: brushed nickel, natural wood grain, high-quality glass… we take no shortcuts with our sourcing, scouring the globe to find the materials that increase longevity, so you can be sure our pieces will be up to the challenge of lighting up your interiors year after year.
Lighting options in your home can serve many functions: to shed light on a particular area, to add atmosphere to a room, or to be a cornerstone design element. Choose from our wide array of modern floor lamps, ranging from minimalist forms to mid century silhouettes, each uniquely equipped to complete your space and provide the essential service of illumination.
Not sure about placement? Play around with different configurations and take note of the shadows and highlights that are created with each new trial. Try to be as detailed as possible in your observations and consider function with each try. Keep in mind that the eye is drawn to the brightest spots in the room. It’s best to use a variety of sources in one room, with floor lamps, wall-mounted pieces, and ceiling lights working all in unison to create the ideal ambiance.
Whether you’re working in a commercial or residential space, finding the right lighting to accommodate the setting is imperative. Perhaps you’re decorating an office space and need to provide adequate task lighting, or maybe you’re finding the right fixture for a nursery to cultivate that muted, sentimental appeal: our options are as endless as their possible applications.
Great designers use lighting as a tool, as a means of actualizing their vision for space: an often-underestimated element that can help a room take shape. It’s truly capable of making or breaking an interior space. It can make a house into a home, it allows the personality of the owner to be displayed in subtle but evocative ways. It can even enhance the impact of other fixtures, helping to shine a spotlight on your expertly selected furniture, beautiful wallpaper, or accent chairs. It can help ensure those thoughtfully considered details don’t go overlooked.
For best results, determine the other details of your space as much as possible: this will help ensure your lighting is flattering to the existing elements.
Human beings have emotional responses to the lighting in a space, whether that happens consciously or unconsciously. So lighting could be the key to unlocking a room's full potential.
Are you after task lighting or mood lighting? The answer depends on the function of the room in question.
Mood Lighting: a diffuse, soft balance of multiple sources of light, this lends itself to a feeling of calm and coziness.
Task Lighting: Localized lighting intended for the purpose of better visibility.

What To Look For
When it comes to finding the perfect floor lamp to suit your space, it’s important to consider the existing elements already at play. You want to complement the scene, not complicate it. Try to take stock of what finishes and materials are in the space, and how you can complement those features in your selection. Also consider scale: are you working with a smaller space with lower ceilings? You may want to be cautious in selecting a lamp that makes sense in the context of the space: a lamp too tall might actually make a space feel cramped due to the limited distance between ceiling and light. You can also use lighting to segregate spaces or designate “areas”. For example in a living room, you might want to have a table lamp nestled over a sofa, and another beside a plant in the other corner, effectively establishing different “zones”.
Are there problem areas of the room you’d like to divert attention from? The solution could be as simple as a strategically placed floor lamp with the right wattage.
