Panels

The front is the decision.

Slats read as texture from across the room.

Solid wood milled into fine horizontal slats, in the same species as the piece. Close up you see the shadow between each one; from the sofa the whole door reads as a soft, striped field. It hides what is behind it without going solid, and it is the panel that makes Plank recognisable at a glance.

Cane lets the cabinet breathe.

A woven cane sheet stretched in a wood frame — lighter and more open than the slats, and the one to choose when the piece sits in a small room or against a dark wall. The weave is natural material, so colour and tension vary slightly panel to panel. Against walnut it reads warm; on oak it almost disappears into the frame.

Build the whole wall

A shelf, not a second sideboard.

The Wide sideboard is the standard plus an open shelf; the Extra Wide is two. Every piece is finished on all sides, so the set can be rearranged rather than replaced. Add the pieces to one order and Complete Your Home takes more off the total the more you bring home.

EQ3 came to Tom Chung in 2018 with a logistical brief: a family of closed-storage pieces that could be shipped flat and configured after it arrived. His answer was to separate the case from its front. Every Plank piece is finished on all sides so it can float in a room, and every door is an applied panel — slatted or cane — which is why the collection has grown from three media units to a range that runs from a side table to a 117-inch dining sideboard without ever changing its language.
